Bastille Day - Wednesday 14th July
Ladies at Lunch celebrated Bastille Day in true French fashion !
French Onion soup was served, followed by Salmon en Papillote with leeks, capers, tomato, dill & lemon. To finish a crossant Bread & Butter Pudding was served with mulled berries
and vanilla bean ice cream.
Gwendoline Cleland won the "best dressed lady" prize in a stunning red, white and blue outfit.
Our speaker, Martine Marshall-Durieux spoke about her life growing up in northern France and the positions she now holds as French Consul and President of "Alliance Francaise" in Chch.
She was a most entertaining speaker, and a lovely afternoon was enjoyed by all.
These lunches are held once a month throughout the
Winter/Spring period and are a fabulous day out with other fine women, enjoying exquisite food and wine. An opportunity to network and meet new friends!
