Our wines are enjoyed internationally.
From the first planting of three hectares of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, to the purchase of 45 hectares of Sauvignon Blanc vineyards in Blenheim, Rossendale has expanded from producing enough wine to supply its own restaurant in the 90's, to become a significant wine exporter.
Rossendale passionately produces three export brands, working closely with our export partners.

Brent and Shirley worked closely with Neil and Maria Empson, the owners of Empson to create Seven Terraces, a unique offering of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and Canterbury Pinot Noir.

Seven Terraces has four superb wines in its line up. New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Rosé and the amazing Bag in Box, 1.5L Sauvignon Blanc.
Innovation in packaging lead to Rossendale purchase a bagging machine, to produce 9L bags and 1.5L Bag in Box packages of premium Sauvignon Blanc, that are sold in Canada. The 9L bags are then 'plumbed in' just like kegs in restaurants, and the 1.5L Bag in Box concept is fantastic for ecologically sustainable convenience. The carbon footprint is less than the standard volume of two glass bottles, and is easier to carry when out travelling/tramping/exploring.

UK
Peter Osborne Fine Wines, Oxford UK was Rossendale’s first export market. Peter came to NZ in mid 1990s looking for NZ wine to import. The trade started with small orders for Peter’s wine shop in Watlington. He then expanded his customer throughout UK, targeting smaller owner operated fine wine stores. Soon bigger outlets were supplied. Unwins, a High street bottle store chain became a significant customer. With Peter’s retirement and the dominance of supermarkets in the wine market Peter Osborne Fine Wines returned their focus to their smaller retail outlets and the Watlington store. Sauvignon Blanc, Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir are supplied to this market.
